African Mammals of Botswana and Namibia
In May of 2014 RoJean and I went on an African adventure with friends, Jon and Catherine d’Alessio. We incorporated their insights from previous trips to Africa in planning our trip.
We engaged Erica Varga of Acappella Safaris ( http://www.safaristhruafrica.com) to assist us in planning our trip to both Botswana and Namibia. Erica suggested we travel with Wilderness Safaris while in Africa, as they have both a variety of camp locations and their own fleet of small planes to get you from camp-to-camp quickly and efficiently. It was time and money well spent.
It was an exceptional trip…beginning with a stay at the Royal Livingston to acclimate and check out Victoria Falls. We were fortunate to be surrounded by African Wild Dogs on a hunt and watch the unsteady steps of a recently born elephant.
Along with so many experiences came an extraordinary number of photos. And so I have arranged our trip photos into three galleries…mammals…birds…and just images of our trip. The mammals are what people typically expect to see, while the bird gallery shows the enormous variety of bird species present in just two countries. And the trip images…well these hopefully show the people side of our safari.
